Does the cPanel you have configured allow shell access (i.e. access to the command line)? May users install applications, for example hevea (an application for converting LaTeX files to html)?

SSH access is provided with all accounts yes, however users do not have root access to install binaries. If they can be run with user-level permissions that would work (for example Composer), but if they need to be installed it’s something a support ticket would have to be generated for and we evaluate on a case by case basis.
