Index.php in public_html? (server permissions)

I’m guessing this has been asked before but…

I’m getting “500 Internal Server Error” when trying to access a very simple php file in ~/public_html . I’ve tried a few different permissions settings - 700, 007, even (gulp) 777 - but always no go. Any pointers to getting php running?

I can be more specific of course, but if there’s a quick how-to somewhere I’m likely to be able to follow that. I have decent linux admin skills and can get this sort of thing going no problem on servers I run.

Thanks,

Sebastian.

Typically the server wants to see 644 for files and 755 for folders. If that doesn’t work let us know the file and we can check (you can either direct message here or put in a support ticket on that note if you prefer).
