There is literally no tab or anything that says “cPanel” when I log in. I went to the cPanel and WHM website and got instructions to install, but I don’t know how to “Open your terminal and access your server via SSH” --or if I should even be doing that. Should cPanel show up on its own? Or do I need to do something?

I’m wondering if you purchased a domain name instead of a full hosting package. The hosting package is what triggers that cPanel icon.
Can you tell me how many “Active Products” and “Active Domains” you have in your Client Area?
Ah ok! So it sounds like you don’t have an active hosting product in your account that will give you cPanel.
